This bone broth recipe is packed with incredible nutrients that help support a healthy gut. It's rich in collagen, gelatin, and l-glutamine that help repair the intestinal lining, potentially reducing intestinal permeability also known as "leaky gut" and provide fuel for the cells of the intestine.
It's also amazing for helping to support the growth of beneficial gut bacteria in your gut and maintaining a strong protective mucus layer in the digestive tract.
I recommend having this on an empty stomach first thing in the morning to get the most out of its amazing benefits!
Ingredients
Chicken carcass (2-4 depending on the size, I used 4 small ones)
Chicken necks (I used 9)
Chicken feet ( I didn’t have any but these are amazing to add in if you can because they are extremely rich in collagen)
6 cloves of garlic
6 celery stakes
4 medium carrots
1 white onion
Filtered water (enough to cover the bones in the pot)
3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp whole peppercorn
5 bay leaves
2 tbsp salt (adjust if needed)
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degree
Peel carrots and roughly chop celery, carrots and onions
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and add chopped vegetables and 6 whole cloves of garlic & lightly drizzle with olive or avocado oil
Line another baking sheet with parchment paper to add the meats (chicken carcass, necks and feet) & lightly drizzle with olive or avocado oil
Bake vegetables and meats for 30 minutes
Once cooked, add vegetables and meats to a large pot and fill with filtered water - enough to cover the contents
Add apple cider vinegar and seasonings (peppercorn, salt & bay leaves)
Bring to a boil on max heat then decrease to simmer for 12-24 hours with the lid on
After 12-24 hours strain the contents using a fine strainer
Allow the broth to cool to remove the excess fat then store in airtight containers in the fridge of freeze
Enjoy 💚
